Step two

Search for sponsors in your niche

Go to the Sponsors tab and search by industry, keyword, or audience size. Look for brands that are actively sponsoring newsletters similar to yours.

How to read the results
  • High frequency — brand buys ads repeatedly. Easier to close.
  • Trending up — spend increasing. Good timing to reach out.
  • Recent — appeared in a newsletter in the last 30 days. Budget is active.
  • Just raised — fresh funding. Look for the "Funding Radar" tag.
Tip: Start narrow. Search your exact niche (e.g. "AI tools" or "personal finance") rather than broad categories. Brands already sponsoring your niche have proven appetite for your audience.

Step three

Research a brand before you pitch

Open any sponsor profile to see their full history — which newsletters they've sponsored, how often, and at what audience size. This tells you exactly how to position your pitch.

What to look for in a profile
  • Which newsletters they sponsor — are they in your niche?
  • Audience size of those newsletters — does yours fit?
  • Sponsorship frequency — weekly buyer or one-off?
  • Contact name, title, and email of the person who manages it
Tip: Check the "Also sponsors" section on a brand profile. If they sponsor 5 newsletters in your category, you have a clear proof point for your pitch: "I noticed you actively sponsor [newsletter X] — my audience is very similar."
4

Step four

Send your first pitch

Get the contact email directly from the sponsor profile. Write a short, specific pitch — reference their existing sponsorships, mention your audience size and niche overlap, and include your rate card or media kit.

Simple pitch structure
  • Line 1: Who you are and why you're reaching out (mention you saw them sponsor [specific newsletter])
  • Line 2: Your newsletter stats — subscribers, open rate, niche
  • Line 3: Why your audience is a fit for their product
  • CTA: Ask for a quick call or send your rate card
Tip: Keep it under 150 words. Decision-makers get dozens of pitches — shorter and more specific wins every time.

Step five

Track your outreach in the pipeline

Add every brand you've pitched to the Outreach Pipeline. Move them through stages — Contacted → Replied → Negotiating → Closed — so you always know what needs a follow-up.

  • Add notes to each deal (what you sent, when, what they said)
  • Set follow-up reminders so nothing falls through the cracks
  • Filter by stage to focus your daily energy
  • Export your pipeline as CSV for your CRM or VA
Tip: Follow up at least twice before moving on. Most deals close on the second or third touchpoint. The pipeline makes it easy to see who's overdue for a follow-up.
6

Step six

Set up alerts so you never miss an opportunity

Turn on competitor monitoring to get notified when new brands sponsor newsletters in your niche. These are warm leads — the budget is active and the brand is already buying.

  • Go to Alerts and add your niche keywords or competitor newsletter names
  • Get email notifications when a new sponsor appears
  • Add the brand directly to your outreach pipeline from the alert
Tip: The best time to pitch a brand is right after you see them sponsor a competitor. They just proved they have budget and are actively buying — reach out within 48 hours.
